The Cataloging & Metadata Unit catalogs and classifies library materials and maintains the OneSearch online public access catalog (OPAC). The department began using and contributing cataloging copy to the OCLC database in 1974. It ceased production of catalog cards in late 1989 when the Baylor University Libraries installed an integrated automated system using DRA multiLIS software. In May 1998, the Baylor University Libraries migrated to the Innovative Interfaces, Inc., system.
The Cataloging & Metadata Unit is located on the Garden Level of Moody Memorial Library and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays (except official University holidays).
