NOTE: As of July 2017, Blackboard Collaborate is no longer the officially supported web conferencing solution for Baylor University. For assistance with using WebEx, our replacement tool, please contact the Help Desk at (254)710-HELP (4357).
Blackboard Collaborate is a web based system that extends the collaboration tools within the Canvas learning management system to allow for synchronous, web-based, virtual classroom environments. Collaborate gives you the functionality you need for a 21st century teaching and learning environment, such as two-way audio, multi-point video, interactive whiteboard, application and desktop sharing, rich media, breakout rooms, and session recording.
Within Canvas courses, Collaborate may be used for study sessions, tutorials, office hours, group projects, guest lectures, and even full class sessions. Beyond the classroom, Collaborate may be used by faculty and staff to conduct meetings, give presentations, or host online webinars.
To learn more about using Blackboard Collaborate, schedule a one-on-one Desktop Coaching session by contacting the ITS Help Desk via email, or by phone at (254)710-HELP.
