Video & Webconferencing Services

Quick Links

Baylor University provides videoconferencing with built-in equipment in various on-campus spaces and support for the Cisco Webex and Zoom webconferencing platforms.

Webconferencing Services

Cisco Webex
Accessible through Canvas, Cisco Webex offers synchronous web-based conferencing. Additional features include two-way audio and video, text chat, application and desktop sharing, and session recording. Webex may be used by faculty and staff to conduct meetings, give presentations, or host online webinars. For more information, please click HERE.

Baylor has added the Zoom platform to its suite of services. This enterprise license allows students, faculty, and staff to log in using a Bear ID, password, and Duo two-factor authentication to leverage Zoom's video and audio communication features. Zoom is available on the web at, within Canvas, through desktop apps, and using the Zoom mobile app. For more information about Zoom, including tips to ensure that your Zoom sessions are secure, please click HERE.

Note: Using Webex and Zoom requires a webcam, speakers/headphones, and a good internet connection. Meetings can also be connected to any of our traditional videoconferencing-equipped rooms on Baylor campus.

Information for Other Webconferencing Solutions

Skype or other similar webconferencing solutions
Learning Spaces offers support for Skype and other similar solutions on a limited basis.  We can provide consultation and guidance, but we are not subject matter experts with any one of these videoconferencing solutions.  For the best support, we recommend Webex or Zoom, our university-supported solutions.

Please note: Although not officially supported, these solutions are accessible to all users on the Baylor network. However, we cannot guarantee bandwidth and/or service.

Room-Based Videoconferencing

Cisco Video Endpoints
There are many locations throughout campus with built-in videoconferencing equipment, providing an optimal experience for groups meeting on campus needing to connect to remote participants.

USB-Enabled Video Endpoints
We have several locations on campus with high quality USB cameras and integrated microphones for use with any computer-based videoconferencing platform, such as Webex or Zoom.

For information on using either of these types of endpoints, please contact

The Learning Spaces Classroom Technology Support (CTS) team offers varying levels of support for your video or webconference, based on specific needs, requirements, and availability. All users will receive information on how to contact immediate support personnel in the event any problems arise. For more information, please contact the CTS team.

Learning Spaces offers in-person training for in-room videoconferencing. Training must be requested prior to the event. The user receives basic training on video and/or audio controls, as well as tips on how to make the videoconference more successful.
