Summative Assessments

Summative assessments occur at the end of a unit, module, and/or course in order to evaluate what students have learned based on defined learning objectives.  Summative assessments are intended to measure student learning over a longer period of time and result in a specific grade.

Recommendation

In online education think project-based assessments rather than selected-response assessments.
