Lecture

One of the most frequently used instructional strategies, the instructor as the expert in an efficient way verbally disseminates information. There is general agreement that the purpose of lectures is to provide the foundations as students engage with the content.

Recommendation

Lectures are most effective when combined with other instructional strategies, such as a guided discussion for example.
