Student Life Leadership Positions (that include compensation)

Many of these positions hire based student worker availability, graduation dates, etc. The general hiring trend (though there will be variances across different offices) is that positions become available within the last 6 weeks of the semester for the following term/summer period. Open positions will often be posted on the Student Employment website (, though students are encouraged to contact their desired place of employment directly to inquire about job vacancies. Positions below are paid at $7.25/hour for up to 20 hours per week unless otherwise stated.

Campus Living & Learning

Community Leader

The Community Leader (CL) serves students in one of Baylor’s residential communities by exemplifying and implementing the policies and values of Campus Living & Learning. The CL provides leadership by fostering community and cultivating relationships, mentoring residents, and facilitating learning through efforts that integrate aspects of diversity, faith development, academics and relationships.

Campus Living & Learning Student Receptionist

The student receptionist assists Campus Living & Learning by serving as a friendly, courteous, and helpful first contact for visitors. The student receptionist answers the telephone, providing excellent customer service. They may also assist with routine projects and tasks. Starting compensation is $7.25/hour for up to 20 hours per week.

Campus Living & Learning Front Desk Student Staff

These students work the front desks of the residence halls from 7 AM - 1 AM daily. Students are hired through Campus Living & Learning and assigned to a hall based on their preferences. Campus Recreation

The SLC is open Monday-Thursday from 6am-midnight, Friday from 6am until 10pm, Saturday from 9am until 10pm, and Sunday from 1pm until 10pm. The Russell Gym is open and staffed Monday-Thursday from 5pm until 7pm. For more information regarding employment in Campus Recreation, please visit our website for the most up-to-date information:

Lifeguard - work as a lifeguard at the SLC Leisure Pool; certification required
Fitness Center Attendant - work in the SLC and Russell weight centers; background in health or fitness preferred
"A" Team  -  work "behind the scenes" in the Campus Rec Office; previous clerical experience preferred
Rec Service Team - work at the front desk of the SLC, Russell Gym and the Pullin Family Marina; previous customer service experience preferred

Sports Official – work for Baylor Intramurals by officiating one of our many intramural sports; general sports knowledge preferred.
Game Manager – work weekends assisting club teams with home game management

Rock Staff – work in the SLC by belaying students, faculty, and staff up the tallest free-standing collegiate rock wall in Texas; climbing experience preferred but not required
Marina Staff - teach and guide others to use the watercraft at the Marina, previous experience required
Equipment Rental / Bike Repair Staff – work in the gear room at the SLC and/or teach repairs on bikes at the Marina


Bearobics instructor

Lead, encourage and motivate participants in a variety of group exercise classes by joining our staff of aerobics instructors; certification or previous teaching experience required. Pay is $10 per hour. Bearobics classes are held at various times from 6am-9pm and Instructors normally teach classes on a weekly basis within those hours.

Bear Cycle Instructor

Help take our studio cycling program to the next level by becoming an instructor; certification required. Pay is $10 per hour. Bear Cycle classes are held in the Bear Cave Cycling Studio at Russell Gym at various times between 6am and 9pm. Instructors will teach their classes on a weekly basis within the aforementioned hours.

Personal trainer

Work one-on-one with Baylor students, faculty, and staff to help them achieve their fitness goals; certification required. Pay is $10 per hour. Hours are flexible and often tailored to the client’s needs and availability.

New Student Programs First Team

NSP First Team is expected to deliver excellent service to new students and their families when they contact or visit the Department of New Student Programs.

Spiritual Life

Student Receptionist

The Spiritual Life student receptionist is responsible for upkeep of the Bobo center’s coffee, which is available to students until roughly noon each day, fielding calls and messages that come in to the office, as well as directing anyone who drops into the office with questions and concerns. In general the student receptionist serves to direct traffic and take care of miscellaneous office tasks.

Student Activities

Game room –Bowling Center Team

Our game room-bowling center team serves as managers of the space; overseeing its daily operations of accounting, maintenance, programming, and marketing to assist in building community amongst Baylor students, faculty, and staff.



Panhellenic Front Desk

Our Panhellenic team serves as managers of the Stacy Riddle Forum Computer Lab assisting with the overall operation and maintenance of the space.



Bill Daniel Student Center Reservations Staff

Our reservations staff works with the Coordinator of Student Union Events to carry out events planned and conducted in the Bill Daniel Student Center. These students have a direct hand in the daily operations of the Bill Daniel Student Center. Work requires managing and operating the reservations office, which includes: answering phones, greeting guests, performing hourly building reviews, set-up and take down of A/V equipment, communicating with Baylor Catering, facilities, housekeeping, and general oversight of events.

Student Involvement Specialist

Our student involvement specialists seek to provide guidance to first year students in areas of involvement. Applicant must be a sophomore, junior, or senior.

Student Activities Gameday Team

Our game day team serves as key personnel on home football game days for the student organization tailgating area. Work requires various hands-on tasks pertaining to area operations and management which includes loading and unloading equipment, area set-up and closing, participant check-in, and area observation. This position is available during the six home football games during each fall semester.

Student Union Building Ticket Office Management Team

Our ticket office management team serves as key personnel for operations pertaining to customer service, filling, mailing of ticket-related materials, orders & payment processing, ticket distribution, reconciliation of sales at end of day and learn ticketing software for BDSC Ticket Office.

Our student activities office team serves as prime representatives of the front office assisting with phone calls, customer management and various projects assigned by professional staff members.

Front Desk Staff

Assist Assistant to the Dean with projects and administrative tasks, greet visitors and provide high level customer service, while maintaining office space.

The Student Communications Specialists serve Student Learning and Engagement, as well as the broader needs of the Student Life division under the supervision of the Assistant Director for Student Outreach & Engagement.

Summer-Only Positions - New Student Programs

Orientation and Line Camp Leaders

Baylor Line Camp Leaders provide a welcoming and consistent message to new students throughout the summer during Orientation and Baylor Line Camp. A successful Baylor Line Camp Leader will help generate excitement in new students about attending Baylor and provide strong points of connection during NSP’s two premier summer programs. Throughout the summer, Baylor Line Camp Leaders will provide programmatic support and staff coordination to BOTH Orientation and Baylor Line Camp. These positions are paid hourly and can work full time as they are not in class during their contracted employment period. Hourly wages does very by position.

Summer-Only Positions - Campus Living & Learning

Summer Conference Positions

Each summer, Baylor hosts more than 50 summer conferences, and more than 5,500 guests spend at least one night in a residential facility. Conference Assistants (CA’s) are undergraduate student leaders who provide hospitality, leadership and management of the residence hall where the summer conferences are staying. Because the CA position is a full-time job, students cannot be enrolled in classes. Conference Assistants receive housing and a meal plan, are paid $7.25 per hour biweekly, and can expect to receive compensation for 40 hours per week.
