Elizabeth Miller, professor of law at Baylor Law School, has received the 2011 Jean Allard Glass Cutter Award from the American Bar Association Business Law Section. Miller accepted the award at the Section luncheon at the 2011 Spring Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts.
Baylor Law School will hold its spring commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at First Baptist Church, Waco. The Honorable Ken Starr, president of Baylor University and the Louise L. Morrison Professor of Constitutional Law, will deliver the commencement address.
The 34th annual General Practice Institute will be hosted by Baylor Law School on Friday, April 29, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m. Co-sponsored by the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Section, the CLE seminar will take place in room 127 at the law school.

Baylor Law School is always looking for ways to stay connected with Baylor University and to promote the law school to undergraduate students who are interested or might be interested in law school. The annual "Day of the Bear" is the opportunity to do just that.
With finals beginning next week, most Baylor Law students are in the study zone, but approximately 50 students took time off Saturday, April 9, to help some special folks have fun. Thanks to the initiative of student Bobby Kaufman, who is in his third quarter, Baylor Law ran the softball throw at the Special Olympics Heart of Texas Region Track and Field meet at Baylor University's Hart-Patterson Track.
Thomas Ward, actor and Baylor University assistant professor of acting and stage combat, will present a workshop titled "Courtroom Communication: Lessons for Litigators Drawn from Life on a Stage" at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in Room 120 at Baylor Law School.
