The Baylor University Alumni Association will present the W. R. White Meritorious Service Award to four individuals during the association's annual membership meeting at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the Hooper Schaefer Fine Arts Center at Baylor.
A team from Baylor University School of Law won first place at the Texas Administrative Law Moot Court Competition in Austin on Oct. 20-21. Devin Huggins and Alex Bell were undefeated in the double elimination tournament.
The Honorable Sam R. Cummings, U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Texas, has been selected as Baylor Lawyer of the Year for 2007. Cummings will be honored at a luncheon on Nov. 7 in Lubbock.
Baylor Law School's annual Dawson & Sodd P.C. Moot Court Competition, an intramural event that lasts almost three weeks, will get under way on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the law school. This year, 44 two-person teams will take part in the competition, which simulates the appellate advocacy process, from writing an appellate brief to preparing and presenting oral arguments before a panel of judges.
