Houston attorney Gibson Gayle, Jr., a Waco native and graduate of Baylor Law School and Baylor University, has been honored by the American Bar Foundation as a recipient of the foundation's leading lifetime achievement award. The American Bar Foundation is an affiliated organization of the American Bar Association.

Sifford of Dallas, has been sworn in as national president-elect of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a national association dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the 7th Amendment to the United States Constitution.
Daniel Davis and Chelsea Mowrer, two students from the University of North Texas, won the annual moot court contest sponsored by the Texas Undergraduate Moot Court Association and held at the Sheila and Walter Umphrey Law Center on the Baylor University campus. A team from Stephen F. Austin University, Dan Keesee and Max Croes, took second place in the competition.
