Alison Siravo

Adjunct Professor of Law

Alison Cahill Siravo practices commercial real estate, employment litigation and transactional law.  Prior to moving to Texas in 2017, Ms. Siravo practiced commercial real estate law representing large national lending institutions in a full range of commercial financing transactions.  Ms. Siravo specializes in government-guaranteed lending programs.    

Ms. Siravo taught advanced legal writing as an adjunct professor at her alma mater, Boston College Law School and served as a guest lecturer in professional responsibility and employment law.   

Ms. Siravo also worked as in-house employment counsel for a Fortune 100 company, representing the company nationally in employment-related administrative charges.  She negotiated employment transactions and monitored outside litigation.  Ms. Siravo mediated cases nationally on behalf of the company and was charged with drafting, training and implementing employment-related policies and compliance measures.  

Ms. Siravo began her legal practice at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York City.  There Ms. Siravo worked as an associate in the securities litigation department and was part of a team that successfully defended DaimlerChrylser at trial.  Ms. Siravo received Skadden’s 2004 pro bono service award for her successful work on a Hague Convention case in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York involving indigent immigrants.  She also practiced employment law at Seyfarth Shaw LLP in New York City.  

Ms. Siravo graduated Order of the Coif from Boston College Law School where she served as a teaching and research assistant for professional responsibility and legal history.  Boston College Law School granted Ms. Siravo a fellowship for students showing promise in entering academia as a legal educator.   After graduation, Ms. Siravo was selected as a law clerk in the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire serving under its then Chief Judge.  

Ms. Siravo joined Baylor Law School as an adjunct professor in legal writing in 2019. 

Ms. Siravo and her husband, Mike, have three children.  She is an avid runner, loves skiing and watching her kids sporting activities.
