Exam Etiquette

Only testing material is allowed on desk during exams. Jackets, sweaters and coats should be hung on the back of the chair if not worn.

All purses, briefcases and backpacks are to be stored in front (below blackboards) of classroom while exam is in progress.

During finals, do not leave personal effects in public restrooms unattended, i.e., books, papers and backpacks.

Restrooms will be checked prior to and during testing for anything unusual. Unattended items will be confiscated.

If using a computer for an exam, a full-size keyboard may not be used (to keep noise down).

Smart watches may not be used during exams.

Headphones may not be used unless approved by the professor.

No cell phones are allowed on the desk during exams. If you have a need to be accessible in case of a family emergency, please discuss the situation with Dean Teague, your professor, Jerri Cunningham or a proctor prior to the start of the exam. Arrangements will be made for a staff member or proctor to hold your cell phone and answer it as instructed.

After finishing an exam and leaving the classroom, please remember that others are still testing. So please refrain from gathering and talking outside of classroom.
