After 19 years with Baylor University, and the last seven with Baylor Law, Susan Wommack, the Law School's Senior Director of Development, is retiring. Susan has worked closely with so many of our Baylor Lawyers throughout the years and we are forever grateful for the impact she has had on our school. Baylor Law would not be what it is today without her. Susan and her husband Chris will still be in Waco and look forward to spending more time with family and friends as well as running into many of you at Baylor events.
Director of Development
In the wake of Susan Wommack's retirement, Baylor Law is seeking a new Director of Development. The Director is an employee in Baylor University Advancement, but is officed in the Law Center and works closely with Dean Brad Toben and the Baylor Law team. The Director has the responsibility and privilege of raising funds and nurturing philanthropic support for Baylor Law.
There are several qualification factors. The Director must possess strong relational skills and be a self-motivated, results-driven thinker. The position blends interpersonal skills, relationships, and friendships with processes and metrics, with the goal of guiding Baylor Law alumni and friends forward in their giving and resource support of Baylor Law. A Baylor Lawyer who is already knowledgeable with the program, culture, and mission of Baylor Law is preferred.
The Director works with alumni and friends throughout the state and beyond. Meaningful day travel and some occasional overnight travel is required. The Director must be able to work effectively, in tandem with Dean Toben and independently. In addition to soliciting major gift commitments, the Director works with University Advancement and the Baylor Law team on annual fund gifts, deferred/estate gifts, annual endowment reports, donor recognition and stewardship, and other duties as assigned
