The Honorable Thomas Redwine was honored by the city of Van Alstyne, Texas, for more than 40 years of service. He is one of the longest-serving municipal judges for one city in the state.
The Honorable Dana Womack was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Second Court of Appeals. She is a senior district judge in Ft. Worth and previously served as judge of the 348th Judicial District Court for 20 years. Judge Womack is board certified in Civil Appellate Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Nelson Barnes, a long-time prosecutor in Bell County, was named the first assistant district attorney in McLennan County. Nelson retired from Bell County with more than 26 years of service.
The Honorable Craig Bennett was recently named senior counsel focusing on regulatory litigation, regulatory compliance and employment law for Enoch Kever PLLC, in Austin. Judge Bennett previously served as an administrative law judge for 19 years with the State Office of Administrative Hearings. He will continue teaching administrative law at The University of Texas Law School.
Britta Stanton is now the Trial Strategy Director at The Focal Point in Dallas.
Jaren Taylor was promoted to partnership with Vinson & Elkins LLP in Dallas. His practice focuses on two main areas: representation of utility and energy clients and eminent domain law.
Justin T. Scott has been elevated to partner of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings law firm. He is a member of the Litigation Practice Group in Houston and focuses on commercial litigation, specifically in the energy, construction and real estate fields. He also represents clients in the energy and heavy equipment manufacturing sectors in personal injury matters.
Stephen M. Boone was elected partner at Akin Gump. Stephen works on oil and gas matters as a member of the firm's energy practice in Houston and is board certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law.
Brian Brisco has been admitted as equity partner at Cantey Hanger LLP in Ft. Worth. Brian's practice focuses primarily on health care litigation.
Lauren H. McDonald recently became an in-house attorney for Tarrant County College District.
Derik Scott, managing attorney at the Law Offices of Derik Aspen Scott in St. Louis, is a competitor on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson's Titan Games on NBC. The Games feature extreme athletes from across the country competing for a $100,000 championship award.
Phillip M. Gordon was recently promoted to litigation counsel at Holtzman Vogel Josefiak Torchinsky PLLC in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. His practice focuses on First Amendment, redistricting, and election-related litigation and appeals.
