Professor Tom Featherston, JD '72, Awarded the Terry Lee Grantham Memorial Award by the Texas Bar Foundation
The Terry Lee Grantham Memorial Award was endowed through the Texas Bar Foundation in 2014 by Terry Lee Grantham's family and friends. This award is made annually to an outstanding Texas lawyer. "In addition to Professor Featherston's outstanding work as a teacher and a scholar and his dedication to mentoring our students in their pro bono estate planning for veterans, he has personally served as the supervising attorney for over 100 wills at Baylor Law's Veterans Clinic over the past few years and was the driving force behind expanding the service to first responders. His lifetime of service to the State Bar, his long-time work crafting legislation, his high profile influence in his field, and his recent legacy of serving veterans and first responders made for a compelling application," said Dean Brad Toben.
Bridget Fuselier, JD '98, Professor of Law and Executive Director of the Veterans Clinic, and Joshua Borderud, JD '09, Director of Baylor Law's Veterans Clinic, Trial Advocacy Clinic, and Estate Planning Clinic, shepherded the nomination process. Professor Featherston will be honored in June at the Texas Bar Foundation dinner held in conjunction with the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting.
