Baylor Law #1 on the Bar Exam with a 92.92% Pass Rate
Results of the July 2017 Texas Bar Exam, released Nov. 3, show Baylor Law School with a 92.92 percent pass rate. Texas has 10 law schools, and since 2001, Baylor Law has been No. 1 on 21 of the 33 bar exams given.
"This success demonstrates what a combination of dedicated faculty and staff colleagues, all invested in our mission and our students, can enable our talented students to achieve," said Dean Brad Toben, JD '77. "We aim, among other ends, to prepare our students for success on the bar exam. We also aim higher to prepare them for success in their lives and in their professional careers. Baylor Law Receives a $60,000 Grant from the Cooper Foundation to Expand Clinical Programs
Baylor Law School plans to expand its clinical programming through its new Trial Advocacy Clinic with a $60,000 grant from the Cooper Foundation of Waco. Under the supervision of the Trial Advocacy Clinic director Josh Borderud, third-year Baylor Law students represent low-income Waco area residents in municipal citation cases. . . Full Story

Texas Access to Justice Foundation Awards Baylor Law $67,000 Grant for Veterans Clinic
In 2012, Professor Bridget Fuselier founded the Baylor Law Veterans Clinic to serve military veterans and their spouses with their civil legal needs. Now in its fifth year, the Veterans Clinic has provided legal assistance to over 750 veterans in Central Texas. The clinic is a training ground for the Baylor Law students who volunteer at the clinic. Law students working in the clinic acquire hands-on experience in client counseling, estate planning, and litigation. The clinic instills in these students a true passion for pro bono work. . . Baylor Law Hosts The National Judicial College's 2017 Dividing the Waters General Conference
Baylor Law was honored to host The National Judicial College's 2017 Dividing the Waters General Conference on November 1-4, in Waco, Texas. The conference prepares judicial officers for adjudicating and resolving groundwater conflicts. The faculty, comprised of prominent scientists and judges from across the nation, focus on the enduring and emerging conflicts over groundwater in Texas and across the West.
