Baylor Law Assists Those Affected by the Removal of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Policy
With the federal government's phasing out of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, the Baylor Law Immigration Clinic offered renewal assistance to those whose DACA status expires on or before March 5, 2018.
"Since the DACA program has been rescinded, uncertainty faces the 800,000 DACA recipients living in the United States," said Laura Hernández, professor of law and founder of the Baylor Law School Immigration Clinic. Upon the government's announcement, Professor Hernández and the Baylor Law Immigration Clinic quickly offered assistance to DACA cardholders who needed assistance submitting a renewal to the federal government.
