Baylor Law Hosts the 2017 Top Gun National Mock Trial Competition
Baylor Law hosted the 8th Annual Top Gun National Mock Trial Competition May 31-June 4. The mock case involved a plaintiff who filed a lawsuit to set aside an inter vivos gift and to recover personal property belonging to a decedent's estate. Jacob M. Morse of Campbell University, Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, was named "Top Gun." As the 2017 champion, Morse received a $10,000 prize given by Naman Howell Smith & Lee, PLLC and the title of the nation's "Top Gun" in mock trial competitions. . . Full Story
Baylor Law Ranks #22 for Graduate Employment and #19 for Federal Judicial Clerkship Placement in the Nation
Baylor Law School ranked #22 for law schools that placed the highest percentage of 2016 graduates in full-time, long-term jobs that require bar passage and were not funded by the schools themselves. Baylor Law also ranked #19 for law schools that had the highest percentage of students accepted to federal judicial clerkships. . . Full Story
Professor Bridget Fuselier, JD '98, Receives the Colonel Bryan S. Spencer Award From the State Bar of Texas
Baylor Law Professor Bridget Fuselier, JD '98, was honored by the Texas Military & Veterans Law Section of the State Bar of Texas with the Colonel Bryan S. Spencer Award during the 2017 State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting. Professor Fuselier founded the Baylor Law Veterans Clinic which helps provide legal assistance to a population of over 16,000 veterans in McLennan County and its surrounding areas. . . Full Story

Ike Vanden Eykel, JD '73, managing shareholder and CEO of KoonsFuller, received the 2017 Alumni Achievement Award from Drake University, his undergraduate institution. Vanden Eykel is the president-elect of the Baylor Law Alumni Association.
Jeff Jury, JD '86, of Burns Anderson Jury & Brenner, LLP in Austin, was inducted as president of The International Academy of Mediators. Additionally, the firm, Burns Anderson Jury & Brenner, was included in the Austin Business Journal for the renovation of their offices, which includes a meticulously recreated mock courtroom.
Christopher W. Martin, JD '90, of Martin, Disiere, Jefferson & Wisdom, LLP in Houston, received the Garland R. Walker American Inn of Court 2017 Attorney Professionalism Award.
Professor Bridget Fuselier, JD '98, professor of law and executive director of the Baylor Law Veterans Clinic at Baylor Law School, received the Colonel Bryan S. Spencer Award from the State Bar of Texas Military and Veterans Law Section. Fuselier was presented with the award at the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting in June 2017. . . Read More
Rhonda Thompson, JD '01, was selected as a 2017 Best Lawyers by D Magazine
Eric Nordstrom, JD '02, of the Hudgins Law Firm in Houston, joined the board of directors of The Center, a Houston not-for-profit agency serving persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities through innovative programs and compassionate care.
Craig Stone, JD '03, senior counsel of Phillips 66, was named to World Trademark Review's inaugural "WTR 300," a list recognizing 300 individuals as the world's top corporate brand counsel. Stone also was named a 2017 Corporate IP Star by Managing Intellectual Property.
Michael Carruth, JD '06, of Klinedinst PC in Sacramento, California, was promoted to counsel. Carruth's practice focuses on civil litigation, with an emphasis on complex business and commercial disputes. He was named a Rising Star by Northern California Super Lawyers® in 2016 and a Top Lawyer for Commercial Litigation by Sacramento Magazine in 2015.
Danielle K. Herring, JD '03, of Littler in Houston, was elected as co-chair of the firm's ERISA and Benefit Plan Litigation Practice Group.
Leiza Dolghih, JD '06, joined the Dallas office of Lewis Brisbois as a partner in the Employment and Labor Practice.
Lauren Damen, JD '11, joined Winstead's Austin office as an associate in the Public and Regulatory Law and Environmental Law Practice Groups.
William King, JD '11, joined Feldman & Feldman PC in Houston as an associate attorney focused on commercial litigation.
