David Kent, JD '78

David Kent of Drinkle Biddle & Reath LLP in Dallas has been elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors for the State Bar of Texas, District 6 – Place 4. Kent will be sworn in at the State Bar Annual Meeting in June and will serve through June 2020.

Hon. Brad Cates, JD '80

Hon. Brad Cates of County Court at Law No. 2 in McLennan County, received the 2017 Outstanding Mentor Award from the Waco-McLennan County Young Lawyers Association. Hon. Cates has mentored countless young lawyers in private practice and from the bench. He has set a strong example of service to the profession with his exemplary bar service, and recently made his long-standing and much-beloved golf tournament into a successful fundraiser benefiting the Region 12 High School Mock Trial competition. He has served as both a coach and a judge for decades in the mock trial competition. Read More

Laura Hallmon a partner with Cantey Hanger in Fort Worth, has been named president-elect of the Baylor Line Foundation.

Aimee L. Stone, JD '02

Aimee L. Stone joined the Fort Worth office of the J.P. Morgan Private Bank as an executive director trust officer.

Rick V. Anderson, JD '07

Rick V. Anderson shareholder at Roberts Markel Weinberg Butler Hailey, PC in Houston, has been selected for the sixth time to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. Anderson also received the Houston Bar Association (HBA) President's Award for Outstanding Service to the HBA.

Dan Moore, JD/MBA '08

Dan Moore has been named to the Board of Directors of the Methodist Children's Home in Waco. Moore is an alumnus of the Children's Home and also serves on the Home's Alumni Board as its past president. Additionally, Moore has reopened his law practice serving Dallas and surrounding counties. His practice serves clients for personal injury, family law matters, criminal defense, and probate.

Matt Czimskey of Beard Kultgen Brophy Bostwick & Dickson LLP is the president-elect of Waco-McLennan County Young Lawyers Association.

Allison Dickson, JD '07
