Andrew W. Stroebel, JD '53

Andrew W. Stroebel of Olton, Texas, died June 28, 2016, in Olton. Andy was born August 1, 1930, in Canyon, Texas to Henry and Mary (Bontke) Stroebel. He graduated from Giddings High School and graduated from the Baylor Law School in 1953. Serving in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, Andy moved to Olton where he was the city attorney for over 50 years. On April 8, 1956, he married Catherine Dodd in Olton and she preceded him in death in 2014. Andy enjoyed spending his time gardening, fishing, and time with family.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Stroebel, in 2014 and a daughter, Julie Ann. Survivors include two sons, Vance Stroebel of Flower Mound and Stan Stroebel and his wife, Misty of Dumas, and a daughter, Jo Stroebel of Dumas. He was blessed with seven grandchildren: Dillon, Aarika, Kody, Kyle, Brandon and his wife, Kaysha, Andrea and her husband, Chance, and Shae and one great-grandchild, Aubreigh.




Kenneth Charles Kautz, JD '72

Kenneth Charles Kautz passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016. Kenneth was born April 17, 1944, to parents, Paul and Geraldine Kautz, in Fort Worth. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1962 and then attended Texas Lutheran College for two years where he met his wife, Deanna. Kenneth later went on to graduate from Arlington State College/UTA with a B.S. in Accounting. He received his juris doctorate from Baylor Law School. Kenneth accomplished this even after being drafted into service with the U.S. Army and serving in Alabama and Korea. Once released into the workforce, he put his law degree to use specializing in real estate law. He also worked in the title industry.

He served his community with the Arlington West Rotary as a past president. Kenneth was a past scoutmaster with B.S.A. Troop 396. He was also a member of the Arlington Bar Association and was an elder at Holy Cross Lutheran Church for many years. Golf was his major hobby and he started a Wednesday golf group of old high school buddies, which grew in number, and still goes on today.

He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Deanna Kautz; son, Kenneth Charles "Chuck" Kautz Jr. and his wife, Rebekah; grandchildren, Grace, Hope and Faith; son, Keith Christian Kautz and his wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Kaycee and Christian; mother-in-law, Isabelle King; brother, Paul Roland Kautz Jr.; brother, Robert Carl Kautz and his wife, Cecilia.




Michael E. Weiss, JD '80

Michael E. Weiss of Alexandria, VA and Wayne, ME passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marina Lee Weiss; daughters, Paige Pollard (Marcus) and Whitney; family friend, TJ Maguire, and grandson, Vaughn Michael Pollard. A celebration of his life took place September 4, 2016 at the Androscoggin Yacht Club.
