Team Selection Criteria
Students are eligible to try out for the Baylor Law mock trial teams once they have taken part in at least one internal moot court competitions. Tryouts typically take place for 2L students during the winter quarter, following the conclusion of fall moot court competitions. Students will be notified by email when those tryouts will be held.
Following tryouts, select faculty and coaches will meet to select students for various teams, and then notice will be sent out to the students informing them if they have been selected for a team.
Additionally, for 3L students, your performance in various Practice Court advocacy exercises like opening statements, direct and cross exercises, and mini-trials, may be considered by the Practice Court faculty and may result in your selection for a mock trial team.
We encourage any student interested in competing for Baylor Law as part of our prestigious and championship-winning mock trial program to try out when eligible!
