Restaurants, stores added to BearBucks

Krispy Kreme, along with other Waco restaurants and stores, is a new addition to the BearBucks roster. BearBucks is a program that uses a pre-paid, declining balance account on Baylor students' identification card. Beginning this year, Krispy Kreme accepts BearBucks.

"Baylor is a large part of the community," Bo Harvel, Waco Krispy Kreme general manager, said. "Krispy Kreme has supported various Baylor sports such as basketball and baseball, and we feel that BearBucks is a great way to be more involved."

Since Krispy Kreme came to Waco, Harvel said many Baylor students have taken advantage of the opportunity for hot doughnuts. Accepting BearBucks will seemingly cause sales to be even higher, he said he hopes.

"Now that Krispy Kreme is accepting BearBucks I have even more of a reason to make the drive down Valley Mills," Stephanie Giesbers, a Temple senior, said.

Harvel said sales have increased since students have returned. He said promotions for Baylor students using BearBucks are a possibility.

"Since, college students are always looking for a good deal, I think students would really take advantage of Krispy Kreme promotional offers," Giesbers said.

Waco's Krispy Kreme store is located at 621 North Valley Mills Drive at New Road.

Krispy Kreme's drive-thru is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and the store lobby is open 5:30 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Thursday; 5:30 a.m. to 1 a.m., Friday and Saturday; 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.
