BU YCT to sponsor school prayer debate

The Young Conservatives of Texas will host a debate about school prayer at 7 tonight in the Barfield Drawing Room at the Bill Daniel Student Center.

The debate will feature Dr. Derek Davis, director of the J.M. Dawson Institute of Church-State Studies and State Rep. Rick Green.

Houston-based Reliant Energy recently presented Baylor with a $500,000 grant. Plans for the grant include the expansion of the Robert M. and Louise Rogers Engineering and Computer Science Building. This is the first grant for the expansion.

The Department of Residence Life is holding an open house of upperclassmen residence halls today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Students can tour the halls, view model rooms and begin the room reservation process. Female upperclassmen residence halls include Alexander, Allen, Dawson and Memorial. Male upperclassmen residences include Brooks Residence Hall and Quadrangle Apartments. Residence hall staff will be available to assist students and answer any questions.
