Bears baskeball teams deserve fan support

Jan. 17, 2001

Both the women's and men's basketball teams are off to great starts this season, and the Baylor community has supported both teams by showing up in droves at the Ferrell Center for every game.

At 13-2, the Lady Bears had their best start in school history and continue to break records and achieve new feats with every game they have played. With the support of their fans at the Ferrell Center, the women's team will likely continue to have success.

The men's Big 12 opener against Colorado was successful in part because 10,183 fans -- the second largest crowd at a men's basketball game at the Ferrell Center -- filled the arena.

Men's Coach Dave Bliss had his best start ever this season and the men's team, at 13-1, is just one win shy of its win total from last season.

Baylor basketball is no doubt improving, but fan support is important to the continued success of both teams.

The next men's game is at 7 tonight against Oklahoma State. The women play at 7 p.m. Jan. 24 against Iowa State. Come out and support both teams; they deserve a big crowd of fans.
