Bad weather cancels softball doubleheader

Baylor's double header today against Stephen F. Austin University has been cancelled because of bad weather.

Miller named softball pitcher of the week

Baylor softball pitcher Joni Miller was named Big 12 Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week Tuesday. It was the second time in three weeks for Miller to take the honor, though she shared this week's award with Amy Vining of Texas A&M University.

Miller went 5-0 with a save in six appearances last week. In 24 2/3 innings, she allowed no runs, struck out 21 and walked just one. Miller is 12-2 with 0.99 ERA this year and has not allowed a run in her last 31 innings of work.

Three Lady Bears make academic team

Michelle Neely, Nicole Collins, and Hilary Akromis were named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team Tuesday. The director of student-athlete support services and the media relations' offices nominated the members. In order to qualify for the first team, the Ladies maintained a 3.2 or better grade-point average, had a 3.0 cumulative gpa or maintained a 3.0 gpa for the previous two semesters and participated in 60 percent of the team's scheduled contests.
