School of Music kicks off holidays with 8 shows

The annual Choral Christmas Concerts featuring the A Capella Choir, Concert Choir, Women's Chorus and Men's Glee Club will begin at 8 p.m. in Jones Concert Hall on Friday and Saturday.

The Chamber Singers will perform at 3 p.m. on Sunday and 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday in Armstrong Browning Library's McLean Foyer of Meditation.

Tickets for the Choral Christmas and Chamber Singers concerts cost $5 for general admission and are available at the Bill Daniel Student Center ticket office.

Four students of University Carillonneur Dr. Herbert Colvin will give a recital at 5 p.m. on Monday on the McLane Carillon in Pat Neff Hall Tower. Lynette Geary will play the McLane Carillon at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Baylor Handbell Choir will present a concert with Christmas songs at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in Meadows Recital Hall.

Symphonic Band closes fall season

Baylor's Symphonic Band will perform at 8 p.m. Monday in Jones Concert Hall in itssecond concert of the fall semester. Selections include Philip Wilby's Catcher of Shadows and Charles Ives' Variations on 'America.'
