Seize opportunity to vote: registration due Tuesday

Oct. 6, 2000

There are only four full weeks until Election Day, Nov. 7. Take advantage of this opportunity to vote for who will represent your beliefs and interests in the various municipal, county, regional, state and national electoral races. But in order to vote in November, citizens must be registered to vote by Tuesday.

Voter registration forms are available at several locations, including the McLennan County Court House, area post offices, the Bill Daniel Student Center and on the Internet at http:// When the Web page loads, click on 'Voter Registration.'

The voter registration forms must be turned in or post-marked by Tuesday. Those who are already registered to vote in their home city can change their registrations to McLennan County, vote early in their home city during absentee voting or request to vote by mail, which many states, including Texas, allow as an option for voters. To vote by mail or absentee ballot, contact your voting facility and request to vote by mail or absentee ballot, whichever applies.

With such easy access to voter registration forms, there is no excuse for not registering. But the clock is ticking. Make sure you get it done by Tuesday.
