Wednesday Clipboard

Nov. 4, 1998

Movin' on up

The Thursday Clipboard has moved to Wednesday to avoid competition with WCW/NWO Thursday Thunder. Also, in honor of the football team's offense, this column will be held to 172 words.

Who's Next?

Well, the women's soccer team picked up Baylor's first Big 12 championship, and Sherri Smith worked the rest of the conference cross country runners. Where do we get another one of those rings? My bet goes with the women's

hoops team, which ripped an Austrian select team 88-55 on Monday. Check Thursday's Lariat for a full team preview.

Last week's winner was Baylor grad Chris Roose, who knew that Notre Dame's last bowl victory was in 1994 over Texas A&M. Congratulations.

This week, the Baylor football team faces the Kansas State University Wildcats, who are ranked No. 2 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll. Since Bill Snyder took over coaching in 1989, he has led K-State to a 74-37-1 record, including five straight seasons of nine wins or more. In fact, only five other schools have won at least nine games in each of the last five years. Who are they? The first person to e-mail the correct answer to will receive a Bit-O-Honey and recognition in Baylor's favorite student-run newspaper.
