Students have the opportunity to recognize and honor outstanding teachers during Diadeloso.

Seniors will select a professor to receive the Collins Outstanding Professor Award during elections. The award, established by the Carr P. Collins Foundation in 1994, honors professors for their quality in educating students. The recipient will receive $10,000, be recognized at commencement and deliver a special lecture May 1.

'We have a number of awards that honor professors for their work,' said Cindy Daughtery, assistant dean for academic services. 'The Collins Outstanding Professor Award is unlike any other though. [The award] honors professors solely for their teaching quality.'

To qualify, the professor must be a full-time faculty member. The winning professor is selected by write-in votes at senior voting at Diadeloso.
