Student Activities and ITS-Internet Services have launched a new online system for scheduling student organization events.
For years all student organizations have been required to fill out paper forms in order to schedule events of any kind. Those forms had to be properly filled in, signed by a staff or faculty advisor and then submitted to Student Activities for final approval.
David Ortiz, Director of Student Activities, approached Internet Services a number of months ago to explore the possiblity of moving the paper-based activity to an online system. Over the ensuing months, the Student Activities staff and Web Programmer/Analyst Cameo Melichar worked to define and create the system.
The result is now available online through the Student Activities home page, https://www.baylor.edu/student_activities
. From this system, with an authorized Bear_Id, members of the Baylor family can view a calendar of all approved student organization events, schedule and approve events, and view the status of any events they have submitted for approval.
This system will also automatically feed information to a new university event calendar system. More information on the university event calendar system will be coming out shortly.
