Baylor VPN Client Update Required for Mac Users Prior to Big Sur 11.0.1 Update

November 13, 2020

Mac users who use Baylor's VPN must upgrade to the latest version of the Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN client prior to upgrading to MacOS Big Sur 11.0.1. To access the latest version of the VPN client, visit vpn.baylor.edu and log in using your Bear ID, password, and two-factor authentication.

Mac clients running older versions of the Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN client that upgraded to Big Sur may experience network issues. If this is the case, move the Palo Alto related files from the following directories to the Trash. The filenames contain the words "paloalto":

  • /Library/LaunchAgents (2 files)
  • /Library/LaunchDaemons (1 file)

Once these files are deleted, restart your Mac, and then visit vpn.baylor.edu to install the latest version of the Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN client.

If you experience other issues and need assistance, contact HelpDesk+ by phone at (254) 710-4357, by email at helpdesk@baylor.edu, or visit online at baylor.edu/helpdesk.
