To ensure that all faculty/staff computers are protected against the recent Java malware vulnerability, ITS has been running LanDesk patch updates 24/7 since Tuesday evening after testing was completed on all Baylor-supported software. However, not all client computers have been updated for various reasons. It is important to verify that you have the current Java update on all Windows and Macintosh systems. Please go to the ITS website (www.baylor.edu/its), click on the Alert Box, and follow the instructions based on the operating system version you have installed.
If possible before leaving at the end of the day, please close all applications, leave computer on and connected to the Baylor network to help ensure patching will be successful. In addition, please follow this same procedure during the day today while you are away from your desk for a significant period of time. Patching may require a reboot of your computer.
