Software Purchases

Before purchasing software, please review the Software Directory to determine if the software is already available for campus-wide use. If the software you need must be purchased or is discipline-specific, please call your technology departmental contact to make the purchase for you. When appropriate, Clients Services should be contacted to assist in determining if a site license for the campus would be more feasible.

Software Support

Software support is provided to all faculty and staff. Limited support is provided to students. Additional support and services is provided to students at HelpDesk+ on the Garden Level of Moody Library:

Software Catalog - A list of end user software applications supported at Baylor by the ITS and Electronic Libraries. The directory includes a description of the software, the current version, and directions for how to obtain the application.

Software Service Levels - This document describes what the Baylor community can expect to receive for software support from Information Technology Services. Each of the support levels reflects a commitment based on the ITS Support Policy.

Campus Software Installer - Application used for installing most of the applications supported on campus.

At-Home Software - Software available for faculty and staff to download on their home computers. Requires BearID and password.

Customized Software Design - Client Services will assist departments in designing customized Filemaker database applications that are specific to the needs of a department. A few examples include databases that track prospective students, schedule auditions, track information on digital photos, track study hall hours, etc.
