The Impact Living-Learning Center is a space where students live, learn, and grow together. We are a community that cares about impacting our world in positive and meaningful ways. One way we work toward this is through our dedication to offer an experience for residents that is safe, respectful, and inclusive.
One of the larger goals of Campus Living & Learning at Baylor is to “encourage dialogue about student differences and foster relationships across socioeconomic, racial, ethnic, and religious lines.” In the Impact LLC, we take that charge seriously. We acknowledge the reality of biases and we strive to be a community that is committed to equity and the development of cultural humility. Cultural humility includes recognizing and working to reconcile the power imbalances that exist among persons of various cultures by understanding that there is value in all of God’s people.
This work is not always easy, but there is a restorative and redemptive purpose to our efforts. As a Christian university called to offer the grace and peace of Christ to all people, we must press into this challenge. In doing so, our Impact programs, activities, conversations, and daily operations will be more inclusive and caring.
Join us in this commitment. Help us impact the world.
