As we countdown the days left in 2019, the Ignite Team is excited to share more updates and progress with the campus community through our e-newsletter. This issue covers Demo Sessions, Spring 2020 Training, Ignite Business Officers, Benefits Leveling and Personnel Requests.     

Last month, more than 400 faculty and staff gathered for the Ignite Fall Campus Information Session. It was a great turn out! Many registrants submitted questions about the project. Since the panel did not have time to answer all questions, we added many of the unanswered questions to the frequently asked questions list. This is a great resource to help you understand Ignite. You can also read the recap from this session online.       

 

What will Ignite look like and how will I use it?    

Ignite Demo Sessions are the first opportunity for faculty and staff to see live demonstrations of the new system and learn how employees will work in Ignite before training is released in Spring 2020. Each interactive one-hour session will demonstrate a few key tools in the system. Plus, Ignite project team members will be available to answer questions.   

Demos sessions are launching next week and continuing through Spring 2020. Register online for the first demo session on Tuesday, Dec. 17. More demo sessions will be added soon, so check back frequently.   

 

Spotlight: Ignite Training

With the Ignite release date planned for June 2020, the Ignite training team is working closely with colleagues across many functional areas to develop formal training curricula and ensure that you can access the appropriate learning opportunities. While much of the hands-on training will be based on your role at Baylor, there are many ways to learn about Ignite:

Who is involved?
Highlighting Business Officers
       

Business Officers are your subject matter experts on how Ignite will support and change processes and procedures. These colleagues are your primary resource for learning the details about Ignite specific to your division, department and role. View the full list of Business Officers.            

    

How Ignite Benefits You: Benefits Leveling     

The handling of benefit deductions for non-exempt employees was one of the processes reviewed and identified for revision through Ignite. Learn more about benefits leveling in Ignite through premiums that are spread equally across all paychecks.      

    

Simplification and Standardization of Personnel Requests

The decisions around Ignite have been driven by adhering to the six Guiding Principles of the project. By focusing on one area each month, we will highlight how these principles have been put into practice. The first principle is Simplification and Standardization.            

One way we are implementing this principle is by eliminating funding and personnel request transactions routed through BearQuest. Human resources requests such as promotions, position changes and transfers will be entered directly into Ignite after consultation with the appropriate knowledgeable persons. These processes will be consistent across campus, in line with industry standards, and will allow redirection of Human Resources staff time to more impactful work.
