Amber assists the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work with the grant proposal process, and serves as a crucial bridge between faculty, staff, and the Office of Vice Provost for Research along with Human Resources, ITS, and other campus partners. Many of her colleagues believe she has demystified the grant proposal process and that grants have grown in the school under her leadership. Amber's nominators expressed that she has a servant's heart, bringing joy into her work and going the extra mile.

One colleague said in their nomination, "She welcomes the opportunity to work with faculty on research projects, grant management and is never too busy to hear ideas and work with us toward making those dreams for research and growth come true."
