BFSA Past-President and Advisor
Dominique is a native of Mesic, North Carolina and is married to his high school sweetheart Gretel. They have three beautiful children-Nadia, Kayla and Dominque, II and are new grandparents to Kaelynn. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education, Exercise and Sport Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Science degree in Management and Leadership from Tarleton State University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership, Dominque is an ambitious leader driven to serve others.
He joined Baylor in 2007 and served as the Assistant Director for Intramural Sports for 12 years before accepting the Director of the Department of Wellness position in September 2019. He actively serves as both an advisor and mentor to Baylor students as well as provides guidance on topics related to diversity whenever called upon by the university. As a servant leader, Dominque is passionate about giving back to the Waco community through service with the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and the Greater New Light Missionary Baptist Church, where he enjoys singing on the praise team.
As the Founding President of Baylor's Black Faculty and Staff Association, Dominque desires to use his talents to help Baylor to become more equitable for its family of color and understands that "It takes a village" to address challenges related to diversity. For this reason, the BFSA accepts membership from anyone who supports its mission.
One of Dominque’s favorite scriptures is Psalm 34:1-3: ""I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise [shall] continually [be] in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear [thereof] and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me and let us exalt his name together
