"Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality." -- Warren G. Bennis
At Baylor, we understand that it is our compassionate and committed leaders who empower our people to do great things. As a manager and leader, you play a vital role in ensuring the University fulfills its mission. Dynamic leaders never stop learning, never stop growing, and never stop developing their people to live out their Christian commitment in the workplace and beyond. Every month we post a new Leadership Lesson here to help you explore new leadership perspectives, develop your own management and leadership skills, and help you translate your team's vision into reality.
The leadership commitments serve as a supplement to the core commitments for those who serve in management roles to promote stewardship of the university's resources.
Leadership Lessons are brief articles on topics related to leading, managing, and learning from positions of influence. These articles are published in the HR News feed and in the People Matters newsletter each month. You can access these through the Search feature on the main HR page.
Each month, bring your lunch and learn from Baylor and Waco leaders. These sessions are open to all employees who want to develop their leadership knowledge and skills. Registration can be found in BaylorCompass.
Human Resources hosts a quarterly half-day seminar for leaders at Baylor. The target audience are managers, supervisors, department chairs, directors, deans, assistant/associate deans, and coaches. You will learn about Baylor's Leadership Commitments from guest speakers, human resource consultants, as well as our Manager of Learning and Development. The seminar concludes with a lunch and a leadership panel from VIP guest across campus. Registration can be found in BaylorCompass.
