Incoming Honors students for whom a First-Year Seminar is unavailable or otherwise inadvisable may, with the consent of program staff, enroll in some other Honors-designated course to satisfy this first-semester requirement.

Some Honors juniors may enroll in both of the required Advanced Readings/Research hours in one semester, though it is usually advisable to spread them out over two semesters.

Credit for additional Honors units may be earned by enrolling in other available Honors-designated courses (including Honors courses-by-contract) that are offered in various academic schools and departments.
