This applies only to website entries. Paper and documentaries submissions are still due by January 23, 2019.
All students, regardless of category, MUST check in either on Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 3:00-5:30 pm or on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 7:30-10:00 am to be eligible for any award.
Documentaries-EARLY DUE DATE
Entries in the documentary category must be submitted early. Deadline for submission of documentaries is January 23, 2019 at 11:59 pm. Documentaries, process papers, and annotated bibliographies must be uploaded via the HOTRHF website. To upload, click here. As a reminder, all entries must be viewable in VLC media player for Windows. Additionally, students must bring their documentary in a USB Flash Drive along with hard copies of their process papers and annotated bibliographies. The HOTRHF will provide the necessary equipment for viewing documentaries.
Judging of documentaries is scheduled for Friday, February 15, 2019. However, entries should be prepared to present their documentaries on Thursday night, February 14, 2019, if the number of entries necessitates extended judging time. Sponsors of the selected entries will be notified two weeks prior to the regional fair.
Preliminaries for Junior Individual and Group Exhibit entries will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 6:00-9:00 pm. Students in this category must check in and set up between 3:00-5:30 pm on Thursday, February 14, 2019. At least one (1) student from group projects must check in and set up. Preliminary Junior Individual and Group Exhibit judging is mandatory and late check in is not allowed. Exhibits set up on Thursday evening must remain in place overnight and through the Friday judging period. The HOTRHF does not assume liability for any items left overnight in the exhibit area.
Senior Individual and Group Exhibit and 5th Grade Individual and Group Exhibit do not have preliminaries. Projects in these categories must be checked in and set up prior to their scheduled time on Friday, February 15, 2019.
All exhibits must be removed by 3:45 pm on Friday, February 15, 2019. Any exhibits remaining will be discarded.
Judging of performances is scheduled for Friday, February 15, 2019. However, entries should be prepared to present their performances on Thursday night, February 14, 2019, if the number of entries necessitates extended judging time. Sponsors of the selected entries will be notified two weeks prior to the regional fair. Students judged on Thursday night will remove all equipment and props after they are judged; there are no overnight storage areas available.
Papers-EARLY DUE DATE
Entries in the paper category are pre-judged and must be submitted early. Deadline for submission of papers is January 23, 2019. Students must upload a PDF of their paper entry to the online registration system.
Websites-EARLY DUE DATE
Entries in the website category are pre-judged and must be submitted early. Deadline for completion of websites is January 25, 2019 at 11:59 pm. As a reminder, all website entries must be created in the NHD Editor Web Portal. Please submit your Weebly ID when you register. Visit the registration page for more information.
