Sample Judging Forms

Each history fair project entry is reviewed by a panel of three judges. Each judge records his or her evaluation of the project on a form like the ones shown below. On the form, judges use check marks to indicate quality ratings in each set of judging criteria and to indicate rule infractions. They also write comments to explain their evaluations. Each project is then given an overall rating.

After the fair, the HOTRHF office staff collects, sorts and returns all judge forms and other student fair materials to student competitors as quickly as possible. Advancing Texas History Day winners receive their judge sheets at the Texas History Day orientation meeting immediately following the awards ceremony on Friday evening.

Click on the document titles below to see samples of the forms judges use to evaluate projects in each category of competition.
