Group or Individual Project?

For all history fair categories except the historical paper category, sutdents may choose to enter either as individuals or as a members of a group. Groups may have no more than five members. Students should think carefully about how they work best and who would be their best partners if they want to form a group.

Remember that group projects require equal participation by all members of the group. Each member may have a different role to play in creating a project, but everyone in the group must participate actively. Choose group members who all share an interest in the chosen topic and who are willing to contribute equally to the time and effort it takes to make the project a success.

National History Day provides a guide to help you decide whether you should create an individual project or work with a group.
