In both the Fall and Spring we induct new members into Phi Alpha Theta through an induction ceremony. To become a member of the Tau Beta chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the international history honor society, you need a 3.3 GPA in 12 completed hours of history credit and a 3.0 GPA overall. Graduate students applying must have a 3.5 GPA in History and completed 30% of residence requirements for Master's degree. We generally count BIC courses, AP History courses, and transfer credits in history towards the 12 hours. Membership applications (available in the History office, Tidwell 215, or online located below), an unofficial transcript (available on BearWeb), and the $70 lifetime membership fee should be turned in to the History Department office before the deadline each semester.

Applications are due by October 16, 2018 to Dr. Julie deGraffendried for the Fall 2018 semester.
