The Baylor Drum Line (BDL) consists of approximately 30 percussionists who come from all facets of university life. The philosophy of the marching percussion program at Baylor is one that aims to balance personal and educational growth. The BDL strives to create an environment that is conducive to a high level of performance while upholding the rich traditions of the Baylor University Golden Wave Band.
Each member of the BDL, new or returning, is required to audition for a position on the drum line every year. Positions include performance on the following instruments: Snare, Tenors, Bass Drum, and Cymbals. The BDL adheres to a drum and bugle corps-style of playing and marching.
2019 Audition Dates:
These two audition-camp dates are for all students (returning or incoming) who desire to participate in the 2019 Baylor Drumline. The last camp will be the formal audition to set the line and instrumentation for the upcoming season. All interested students should read the audition information provided in the registration form in THIS LINK. Audition music will be emailed out on March 10th to the email provided in the interest form.
In addition to filling out the form, all prospective drum line members should come by the Golden Wave Band information table during the Campus Connections/Dr. Pepper Hour in the Atrium of the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation during your designated two-day New Student Orientation Session in the month of June/July. This will provide us with an opportunity to update you with the most current information regarding the upcoming season.
