Robert (Bobby) Martinez
My time at Howard Payne University was integral in my early academic and spiritual formation. As somebody with a curious mind and passion for learning, their Christian Studies Department was a sacred space where the intersection of faith and intellect positively influenced the (re)formation and renewal of my childhood faith. Be it through classes, departmental book clubs, or extended conversations with professors and peers, Howard Payne University taught me the value of Baptist colleges and universities for the future of the Church and academy. Through the BCU program, I look forward to finding new ways to give back to our beloved tradition as a Ph.D. student at Baylor and product of Baptist institutes of higher learning.
