June 2   First day of classes.
June 5   Last day to satisfy graduate foreign language requirement for August 2020 Commencement. Refer to http://www.baylor.edu/mlc/ for details.
June 5   Last day for graduate students to file for August 2020 Commencement.
TBA   Formatting Workshop. No reservation required. PIZZA!
June 22   Deadline for purchasing doctoral regalia for August 2020 Commencement
July 3   Independence Day Holiday
July 7   Final Examinations, first summer term
July 9**   Last day to take the oral examination (oral defense) for dissertation/thesis candidates for August 2020 Commencement. (All incompletes for coursework other than dissertation/thesis hours must be cleared before the oral examination can be taken.)**The Preliminary Technical Review is required and must be scheduled at least 2 weeks before the oral examination. July 9   First day of classes, second summer term
July 9   Last day for submission of the Record of Oral Examination form to Graduate School for dissertation/thesis students for August 2020 Commencement
July 13   Last day for electronic submission of the departmentally defended and approved copy of the dissertation/thesis to the Graduate School for August 2020 Commencement.
July 15   Deadline for renting doctoral regalia for August 2020 Commencement
July 17   Change of Grade form to remove incompletes and petitions for transfer of credit for all students and all coursework must be received by the Graduate School by this date.
August 11   Last day for non-thesis candidates to take the oral or comprehensive examination for August 2020 Commencement. The Record of Oral Exam form, or results from comprehensive exams, must be delivered by 5:00 p.m. to the Graduate School by this date (do not send in campus mail).
August 12   Final Examinations, second summer term
August 13   Administrative check on graduate candidates for graduation, including overall GPA requirements, foreign language proficiency requirements, and any outstanding obligations.
August 14   Doctoral Dinner, 6:30 p.m. (tentative), Cashion 506
August 15   Commencement at the Ferrell Center. Commencement information is available online at www.baylor.edu/commencement

October 23**   Last day to take the oral examination (oral defense) for doctoral candidates for December 2020 Commencement. November 2   Last day for electronic submission of the departmentally defended and approved copy of the doctoral dissertation to the Graduate School for December 2020 Commencement.
November 4   Last day to satisfy the graduate foreign language requirement and report the results to the Graduate School. Contact Lilly_Fuertes@baylor.edu for details.
November 6   Last day to take the oral examination (oral defense) for master’s candidates for December 2020 Commencement. (All incompletes for coursework other than thesis hours must be cleared before the oral examination can be taken.)**The Preliminary Technical Review is required and should be scheduled at least 2 weeks before the oral examination. November 16   Last day for electronic submission of the departmentally defended and approved copy of the master’s thesis to the Graduate School for December 2020 Commencement.
November 25-29   Thanksgiving Holidays
December 4   Change of Grade form to remove incompletes, and petitions for transfer of credit for all students and all coursework must be received by the Graduate School by this date.
December 7   Last day of classes. Last day for non-thesis candidates to take the oral or comprehensive examination for December 2020 Commencement. The Record of Oral Exam form, or results from comprehensive exams, must be delivered electronically to the Graduate School by this date.
December 8-9   Study Days
December 10-12; 14-15   Final Examinations (including Saturday, December 12).
December 16-17   Administrative check on graduate candidates for graduation, including overall GPA requirements, foreign language proficiency requirements, and any outstanding obligations.
