English Proficiency Examination

International graduate applicants must demonstrate English-language proficiency by submitting either TOEFL or IELTS scores.  

Please Note: We encourage you to confirm, with your department, their TOEFL/IELTS score expectations.

Validity

TOEFL and IELTS scores are valid for 2 years.

 

Exemptions

To request an exemption, please email GraduateAdmissions@baylor.edu to confirm that you qualify based on one of the reasons below. 
If you have not already loaded a transcript to your application file, please attach your transcript as supporting documentation.

International applicants are exempt from the TOEFL/IELTS requirement under the following circumstances:

  • You have a conferred bachelor's (or higher) degree from an accredited institution in the United States.
  • English is the national language of your country.
  • Your degree was issued from an institution where English is the only language of instruction.
  • You are a U.S. citizen (this includes Puerto Rico).
