Tuition bills for study abroad are generated on the same timeline as regular semester bills as determined by the Baylor Student Accounts office. All Study Abroad program fees must be settled before the program’s departure date.
All payments are to be paid through Baylor’s E-Bill portal.
Reading Your Bill
Study Abroad programs vary in cost depending on the program, geographic location, program length, cultural activities, and other on-site services. You can access view the estimated costs for each study abroad program through the BearsAbroad program portal.
Deposits: Once a student is accepted to a program, they are able to pay their program deposit and save their space on a program. If your BearsAbroad program application has a status of “Deposit Required,” you are ready to pay your deposit. All deposits are paid through the e-bill portal (for winter programs, select the spring term).
Program Fee: For Semester and Short-Term programs, the program fee covers a students’ housing, meals, in-country transportation, health insurance, some meals, cultural excursions, and activities. Some programs also include the cost of airfare within the program fee. Please refer to the programs’ BearAbroad brochure page to see what is included in the program fees.
Semester Tuition: Tuition is based on the university's flat-rate plan. If you are enrolled in a payment plan, you are still eligible to use your payment plan on study abroad programs.
In order to keep study abroad affordable, some program housing expenses are excluded from program fees. Typically, if the housing expenses are lower than the housing expenses at Baylor, students are asked to pay their housing expenses directly to the housing provider, therefore cutting out the middleman, and directly saving students money. Likewise, if the housing for a particular program or country is more expensive than it would be at Baylor, students are charged the housing along with their program fee, and Baylor receives the bill for the housing, therefore subsidizing the cost of housing for students. The goal of Baylor Study Abroad is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to go abroad!
Short-Term Tuition (Summer and Winter)
Summer tuition is charged per credit hour (See Student Accounts for the most recent rates). The Tuition for the GBL 1102 course required of all students is subsidized by the university and will not appear on the bill.
