Hey everyone! My name is Lindie and I’m a sophomore International Studies major with a minor in Chinese. As a Third Culture Kid (TCK) I’ve spent all of my life living abroad in both Europe and Asia and as result speak both German and Mandarin. Even though my parents are originally from the U.S., moving to Baylor has been my first time ever living in the U.S.. I am a massive foodie, love cooking and baking as well as exploring the outdoors with friends and family. I know how hard it can be moving abroad or away from family for the first time, but know that we are here to support you. I cannot wait to meet all of you!

I spent 6 months in Europe this past year traveling in different countries and studying in southern France. I absolutely love meeting people from around the world and hearing their stories! I love bread, lavender, and coffee and I love to spend time cooking new dishes. I can not wait to meet you and hear your story, and I hope that we can cook together sometime!

My hobbies are traveling, watching sunsets, and journaling and I love spending time with my family and friends. You might feel overwhelmed coming to a new place with new faces, but fear not! We are here to meet you, encourage you, and serve you as best as we can. Welcome to our Baylor family!
Home: Singapore; Cumbernauld, Scotland; Katy, Texas
The reason I have so many hometowns is simply because I don't solely have one, because I am what is known as a TCK, or a Third Culture Kid. I was born in Cumbernauld, Scotland where all of my family bloodline is from. When I was young I moved around a lot mostly growing up in Asia, including South Korea and Singapore. I am a current Junior Chemistry major, Mathematics minor. A fun fact about me is that I am a huge fan of scuba diving and have participated in dives in 8 different countries.

I am a 3rd year PhD student in the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. I love watching soccer, making friends and travelling to new places. Coming to the U.S. as an international student was exciting and also challenging in terms of adapting to the U.S. culture, but being in the midst of loving people in Baylor, especially people at the Center for Global Engagement Office, made all the difference. I am passionate about helping other international students adapt easily to the U.S. culture.

I am a 2nd year international graduate student in Chemistry from Shillong, India and am excited to welcome you to Baylor! If you're someone who is passionate about food then we already have something in common! We could even trade recipes! I love meeting new souls and learning from their life experiences- I would be honoured to learn from you.

Hey y'all! My name is Lawson and I'm a junior University Scholar studying Political Science, Spanish, and Creative Writing. I've lived in five US states, Spain, and Guatemala, and I love that I have roots spread far and wide. I have a very large and nontraditional family that includes 7 siblings and two dogs. My favorite thing to do with my family is cook, but I also consider myself a connoisseur of Texan fast food chains. My ideal day in Waco is paddleboarding on the Brazos River with friends while talking politics and listening to some great music. I speak Spanish and I'm going to start learning Portuguese this fall. I'm so excited to meet you all and welcome you into the Baylor family!

Hello Bears! I’m a Sophomore Electrical and Computer Engineering major. I love exploring new places, cultures and food! Baylor has been an integral part of my journey in life and I have grown tremendously as a person since the past year here. I like to spend my spare time going to the marina, painting, reading and trying different kinds of Boba tea! Fun fact about me: I don’t get sea sick or jet lagged.

Hi everyone! My name is Grace and I'm a junior International Studies and French major with a minor in Religion and I'm so excited to meet you all in the fall! I love hiking and going to the park to hang out! I speak French and am working on Arabic as my third language. I studied in France this summer and am planning to go to Morocco in the spring. I can't wait to see all of you at Baylor soon! Sic'em bears!

Hi friends! Welcome to Baylor! I'm a senior majoring in Public Health. Born and raised in Shanghai, I came to Baylor 3 years ago. I speak Mandarin, English, and a little bit of Japanese. In April, my friends and I had the chance to represent the U.S. for a competition held by Red Bull Company. We traveled through 5 countries and 7 cities in Europe in 7 days without phones, cash or cards but only with our backpacks and the energy drinks as currency. This crazy journey really opens my eyes and makes me want to embrace this world more. Can't wait to meet you guys and hear your awesome stories!

I am a senior Mechanical Engineering major. I went to high school in Elmhurst next to Chicago. So I love Chicago style pizza very much. Personally, I love taking pictures, especially landscape pictures. My favorite spot to take pictures was San Juan, Puerto Rico. I like playing video games, watching movies and trying out new things to eat! My favorite dish in United States is from a restaurant called Crawfish and Noodles in Houston. If you watched “Ugly Delicious” from Netflix, then you will know what I’m talking about. They have their own Viet-Cajun style craw fish which is incredibly delicious! Anyways, welcome to Baylor! Come say hi to me and maybe we can grab some craw fish together.

Sic’em Bears! 你好! I’m Zhenbo Yan. I will be a junior (third year) this fall. I study Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science. My major might make me sound like a nerd, but I like being outside, playing sport, and staying active. I really enjoy meeting new people and talking to people from different cultural backgrounds. I grew up in Beijing, but I moved to Dallas in high school, and I studied abroad in Dublin last semester. I speak Mandarin, but I am always open to learning a new language. Currently, I am working on my Spanish. Over the years, Baylor has become home to me, I hope one day you will call it home as well.

Hi everyone! My name is Alba and I am a junior studying piano performance. I am an international student from Albania and this is my fourth year studying in the United States. One of my favorite things to do is to learn new languages and explore different cultures. I can speak Albanian, Italian, Spanish and English and I would love to get to know more about your languages as well. I cannot wait to share my experiences as an international student with all of you. I know that being far away from your home and family is a little scary at first, however, one of the best things about Baylor is its close sense of community. I promise that you will find that out right from the beginning. I’m so excited to get to know each and every one of you!
