Trips and Special Events

The Center for Global Engagement sponsors trips and various cultural events for International Students and Scholars each semester. The trips and events are open for any Baylor international student and scholar to attend as well as their family members and friends.

Refund Policy: If a fee is required for a trip or event and a student has paid that fee, no refunds will be granted after the registration deadline for that event. Students that cancel before the registration deadline must come to the ISSS office to obtain a refund.

Fall 2019 Trips and Events

Baylor Football Tailgate

August 31, 2019

Come join the ISSS office and the Baylor & Beyond LLP for the time-honored American tradition of the pre-football game tailgate. Join us for free food and a fun time as Baylor prepares to take the field! Fun for the whole family. We will meet at the tent in the Student Organization section of Touchdown Alley, (beside the Baylor Law School on this side of the river).You do NOT need to buy a football ticket to attend this event. It is open to all international students/scholars, and members of the Baylor & Beyond LLP.

International Student Retreat

September 13-14, 2019

Looking for a classic American experience to start the school year? Join Baylor CGE on the International Student Retreat as we head out to Clifton, TX to stay in cabins, enjoy eating toasted marshmallows (search the word S'more on the internet and see what you find!) while sitting around a campfire, go hiking, play games, make new friends, and more! Cost includes transportation, housing and all meals and activities during the retreat. Click HERE for more information about the retreat.

Pumpkin Patch Visit

September 28, 2019

With the American holiday season fast approaching, join ISSS as we travel to the Robinson Family Farm for a fun-filled afternoon of corn mazes, pumpkin picking, yummy food, and fun games! Cost includes transportation and entrance fee. GFP partners welcome as guests!

Homecoming Flag Procession

October 12th, 2019

Join in on one of Baylor University's oldest traditions and march in the Homecoming Parade! International students will carry the flags from all countries represented by Baylor's international enrollment. Wear your national clothing, or green and gold. Bring extra flags and friends! We will meet at North Russell Residence Hall at 5:30 a.m. to walk to Austin Avenue and 7th Street and then march behind the Golden Wave Marching Band for 30 minutes through the City of Waco down Austin Avenue onto 5th street on Baylor's campus.

Holiday Shopping Trip

November 9th, 2019

Stock up on gifts for the holiday season as we take a trip to some of the premiere shopping and international markets in central Texas. To confirm your registration, please come by the CGE office in Hankamer Academic Center Room 160 to pay the $10 and sign a waiver by Friday, November 8th. The bus for the trip will leave on Saturday, November 8th, from the 5th Street Circle at 9:00 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m.

Baylor Basketball Game

Come cheer on the Baylor Bears in basketball during International Education Week! The Center for Global Engagement will be the organization of the game and all international students attending the game will get free food and prizes. Fun for the whole family!

Thanksgiving Dinner

November 21st, 2019

Take part in another American tradition with great food and great company by attending Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 21st, sponsored by the President's Office and the Baylor Round Table.  This event is free for all international students and scholars! Business casual dress is preferred.
