Calling all world-traveling Baylor Bears!

It’s time to submit for the 2017-2018 PHOTO CONTEST!

If you studied abroad during the 2017-2018 academic year, you’re eligible to participate in the annual Study Abroad Photo Contest! We know you had great times abroad and that you probably took a few (thousand) pictures while you were overseas. Now we’re asking you to showcase these pictures. First, second, and third place winners from each category will receive small prizes and have their photos displayed during International Education Week (November 12th-16th)in the Moody Library!

Who is eligible?
Any current Baylor student who received credit on a Baylor study abroad program during the Fall 2017, Spring 2018 and Summer 2018 terms.

Are there prizes?
Of course! Each category will have a 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place winner. Winners will be awarded with an Amazon gift card in the amount of $75, $50, and $25 respectively.

What types of photos can be submitted?
There are four categories-

  • Landscape/Cityscape 
  • Art/Architecture
  • People
  • Best Baylor Pose

How many photos can I submit?
A total of 4 photos, 1 for each category (Landscape, Art/Architecture, People, Best Baylor Pose). These photos must have been taken at some point during the study abroad program.

Do I have to submit 4 photos?
No, you don’t have to submit for each category (though we suggest you do!). But you cannot submit more than a single photo in any category.

How do I submit my entries?
You will need to do the following to be eligible for the contest:

  1. Compete the Entry Form: in its entirety and submit hard copies (8x10 size) of your entry photos in an sealed envelope with your name and student ID # to the Study Abroad Office (Hankamer Acadmemic Building, suite H160).
    • Quality photo prints on photo paper only please (Walgreens and CVS do them for only a few dollars).  
  2. Email the jpeg copies of your pictures to

Will I get the 8x10 back?
Unfortunately, no. These photos are kept to display in our office (if you’ve ever been to the Study Abroad office you know what I mean) or other departments on campus.

What is the deadline?
All photos must be submitted no later than October 12th at 4:30pm. Unfortunately late entries will not be eligible.
